Lightning arrester, also named surge arrester is a over-voltage protector, it has Polymer lightning arrester and Porcelain lightning arrester it's mainly used for Power distribution networks, Transmission line, Substation, Railway power station and etc., to protect transformer, cable connector, capacitor, instrument transformer, motor, generator and power equipment from being damaged by over-voltage transient caused by external lighting and internal switching event.
The core components (called resistor disc) of metal oxide surge arrester is Zinc oxide varistor, it has a excellent nonlinear(VA) characteristics, which has large through-current capability at over-voltage, good pressure ratio, consistency, also has a good steep wave response characteristics, no delay to steep wave voltage, low operating residual voltage, no discharge dispersion, to avoid effectively the overvoltage damage to power transmission and distribution equipments.
Polymer housed products with a six CTI level, creepage distance meets the requirements of IV level in heavy pollution areas. It conforms to IEC60099-4,ANSI,GB standard.
