The selection of the top 100 electronic information companies is based on the 2016 annual industry statistics. These rankings consider various comprehensive factors including main business revenue, market share, technological innovation, brand influence, and corporate social responsibility. This year marks the thirty-first session of the event.
Experts commented, "By analyzing the top 100 enterprises, we can better understand the current state of China's electronics manufacturing industry. Companies like Huawei, Lenovo, Haier, TCL, ZTE, Changhong, and Hisense have firmly established themselves at the forefront. Each upward movement in ranking signifies significant self-improvement in terms of R&D decisions, business strategies, and manufacturing capabilities. Despite the sluggish economic climate in 2016, Changhong and other home appliance giants defied the odds through intelligent innovation, operational adjustments, and business transformations, ultimately securing their place among the elite."
**Adhering to Product-Oriented Strategies and Developing Thriving Industries**
Integrated home appliances, military industries, and IT distribution constitute the three core industries of Changhong. In its continuous exploration and deep cultivation of these primary sectors, Changhong remains committed to innovation and growth.
Recently, Changhong officially joined the Smart TV Big Data Alliance, collaborating with organizations such as CSM, CTR, Huanwang Technology, and Gouzheng Data to promote smart TV big data applications nationwide. This alliance aims to create a comprehensive data ecosystem covering all smart TVs in the country, setting new standards for evaluating TV screen effectiveness and driving industry progress.
According to a representative from Changhong, the company boasts the first big data center in the home appliance sector, along with advanced platforms for intelligent research and development, manufacturing, operations, and trade. By joining the alliance, Changhong plans to shift its focus from "product-centric" to "user-centric" operations. Through this partnership, Changhong will integrate resources and foster collaboration to deliver more personalized services via AI-powered TVs and other hardware.
Data indicates that in the first quarter of this year, Changhong CHiQ smart TV sales surged by 20%, with the CHiQ Q3T model, which generated over 100 million yuan in gross profit last year, becoming a standout product in terms of both volume and profitability.

In the first half of 2017, Meiling began to vertically integrate its industrial chain, transitioning from a single refrigerator manufacturer to a diversified white goods enterprise encompassing refrigeration, washing machines, small appliances, biomedicine, and fresh e-commerce.
According to Zhongyikang data, from January to June 2017, Meiling's refrigerator retail share grew against the trend, reaching 8.84%, a 0.25 percentage point increase year-over-year, ranking first in the industry. Refrigerator sales particularly stood out, with a 50% year-on-year increase in sales volume during the first five months, boosting market share by 2.11 percentage points, making it the fastest-growing segment.
The washing machine sector, another focus of Meiling's 13th Five-Year Plan, also performed well in the first half of the year. In March, Meiling partnered with CANDY Group, and in June, the two companies formed a joint venture to accelerate the upgrade of drum and washing machines, enhancing Meiling's position in the premium washing machine market.
Similarly, the air conditioning industry saw positive developments. During the recently concluded 618 mega promotional event, Changhong Air Conditioning achieved impressive results across all channels, with sales surpassing 100 million yuan on the day of the event. Additionally, in the 12th Sichuan Famous Brand Awards, Changhong Air Conditioning earned the prestigious title of "Sichuan Famous Brand" in both product and service categories.
In military and IT distribution industries, Changhong exhibited strong growth momentum. Leveraging national military-civilian integration initiatives, Changhong transformed military and civilian products interchangeably, achieving numerous successes in military-to-civilian, civilian-to-military, and dual-use technologies. Military sales revenue climbed from 1.3 billion yuan in 2007 to 6.696 billion yuan in 2016, doubling in less than a decade.
This positive industry performance bolstered Changhong's capabilities, particularly in its many "hidden champions." Last year, through accelerated transformation and upgrades, Changhong's Huayi Compression Industry Platform became the world's largest compressor supplier, while its subsidiary Changhong Power Company emerged as China's leading aviation power provider. Changhong Jiahua serves as the core IT content service provider, making Changhong the largest data storage solution provider in China. With the rise of the Internet of Things, Changhong Aidian Technology has become China's largest wireless connection module provider.
**Maturing Emerging Businesses and Marketable Smart Home Solutions**
Parallel to its core industries, Changhong has also excelled in emerging services like smart services, smart communities, and smart city solutions.
"Aside from excelling in intelligent innovations for home appliances, Changhong has also made strides in smart business ventures. These emerging services not only ensure the lower limits of Changhong's development but also define its upper boundaries," noted senior appliance analyst Hong Shibin.
At this year's Asia Consumer Electronics Show, Changhong's Smart Home Application Solutions were fully commercialized. Supported by the UP platform, Changhong plans to collaborate with real estate developers to make rapid advancements in intelligent control, security, big media, energy management, and health services. The UP platform will also partner with various service and content providers to offer diverse offerings to users.
It is anticipated that in the future, Changhong will focus on developing security products, smart wearables, smart speakers, electronic peepholes, smart door locks, and other devices.
Beyond its core industries and emerging businesses, Changhong's overseas market competitiveness continues to improve. Since establishing its first overseas office in Indonesia in 1999, Changhong has spent over a decade building a global strategic presence, successfully exporting products, technology, talent, manufacturing, and branding worldwide. Currently, Changhong's overseas operations span more than 20 countries and regions globally, including Indonesia, Pakistan, and the Czech Republic, all along the "Belt and Road" initiative. It is projected that by the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, Changhong's overseas business will grow by more than 30%.
In June, at the 14th World Brand Conference hosted by the World Brand Lab, brands like State Grid, Tencent, and Changhong took the lead. Changhong's brand value reached 131.975 billion yuan, reflecting steady growth over the years.
