After over a year of using the Sairui SiberiaRaw, I finally had to confront its shortcomings, primarily its unreliability and brittle build quality (obviously made from cheap plastic). While there are plenty of online discussions about Beats headphones as well, the newer Siberia 100/150 models seem to have a better structure. However, they still exhibit issues with brittleness despite being marketed as durable. The older Mito model didn’t fare much better, and there’s even a circulating counterfeit version of the Siberia Raw Prism online, which differs from the original by having a 3.5mm headphone jack without RGB lighting versus the Prism version’s USB interface with RGB lights (which some users argue creates unnecessary light pollution). Anyway, I’ve considered switching to a PS4 controller since my monitor lacks built-in speakers.

For this repair job, you’ll need a decent set of screwdrivers and an electric soldering iron. Aunt Zhang has always recommended avoiding the S2 version unless you're working on something specific at home.
The best solution for dealing with the SiberiaRaw's fragility is to simply accept the risk and proceed with caution. For instance, the telescopic rods tend to break easily, and once fixed with 502 glue, they can't be replaced if they break again. As a workaround, you can try DIY fixes like reinforcing the structure yourself, but this requires patience and skill. To start the repair, gently pull off the knitted fabric covering the ear cups to expose the gaps in the headphones. Then unscrew the ear pads by turning them clockwise—this is easier after prolonged use as the material softens slightly.
Once the ear pads are removed, you'll notice four screws securing the unit. Use your soldering iron to detach the unit’s wires before removing the inner screws.
Lift the white cover to reveal a gray panel held in place by three screws. Be careful not to lose the small stainless steel pin located near the broken telescopic rod. Carefully extract the damaged rod.
Remove the two screws on the headphone beam and carefully thread the cable through. Insert the intact telescopic rod into the positioning pin, ensuring the cable fits snugly into the designated slot. Cover the assembly with the gray cover (double-check that the unit wires haven’t been accidentally inserted into the wrong hole; test by pulling gently to ensure smooth operation).
Reattach the white cover plate (it might require some force). Solder the unit back in place, reinstall the ear pads (don’t forget the thin circular sponge; insert it into the gap and tighten by turning clockwise), and your repairs are complete.
Experience: This headset is definitely finicky! The lack of a reliable repair method means you’ll likely need to replace the entire earpiece if anything goes wrong (though black or white versions might offer a temporary fix). The knitted fabric ear pads are particularly prone to dirt accumulation, making regular cleaning essential. If anyone else has encountered similar issues, feel free to share your experiences or solutions.
