Doing business in Germany

Opened in Germany, most industries do not need approval. The industries that need to be approved are as follows:

1. Industry. Only the production of weapons and medicines requires approval. In addition, production of special equipment, such as certain machines, heating equipment, etc., must have a production license. This is mainly to maintain some legal provisions, such as the Federal Environmental Protection Act, the Wastewater Discharge Act or the Instrument Safety Protection Act. Because some of these regulations are important, you should have a thorough understanding before the start, such as consulting with the Industry Regulatory Authority and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

2. Business. Only the following aspects of the field require approval and attention to relevant regulations: (1) Weapons, ammunition and explosive materials. (2) Animals. According to the Animal Plague Act, the operation of parrots and starlings must be approved. Since January 1, 1981, the management of spondyls (except farm animals) must also be approved under the Animal Protection Act. (3) Motor oil and driver oil. From July 1, 1987, those who distribute motor or drive fuel must set up a place to recycle used oil at or near the place of sale, or can prove such a place. The collection point must have facilities that can meet the specified oil changes. In addition, according to the "Garbage Law", different waste oils should be able to be stored separately. (4) Medicines. If retail does not require a doctor's prescription, only one person in the store has the expertise required by the law to open the business. (5) Other trades. The distribution of plant protection agents and the distribution of toxic and toxic materials also requires approval and professional knowledge. Those who distribute used goods, precious metals and old metals have the obligation to carry out "special billing".

3. Mobile management. Anyone who flows a certain commodity or service, except for a few exceptions, needs to have a "mobile business card." All “foreigners” (excluding citizens of European Union countries) must apply for a mobile business card, whether they are operating in retail or wholesale.

4. Brokers and builders. Any intermediary activities such as real estate, housing, loans, capital and property investment shall be reported for a special approval.

5. Restaurants and hotel industry. Hotels that operate restaurants and more than 8 beds must be submitted for approval. One of the conditions for obtaining business approval is to attend lectures on food law organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

6. Transportation industry. Cargo (shipping goods for others and even shipping for their own companies), passenger transport (personnel transport, such as buses, taxis) must be approved.

7. Handicraft industry. There are 125 handicraft industries in Annex A of the Handicrafts Regulations. To operate these industries, there must be a corresponding "technical card" or similar certificate or special permit.

8. There are many other industries that need to be approved, such as: supervision industry, auction industry, security protection industry, game machine and game salon (ie "slot machine"), credit insurance industry, car driving school, travel agency, pawn business and pawn intermediary .

Special circumstances may not be approved. Specific rules, especially the exemption regulations, please ask the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
