The Arctic station is China's first overseas terrestrial satellite receiving station. It has the receiving capability of all-weather, all-day, multi-resolution satellites. Its completion has greatly improved the ability of receiving and acquiring global data in China.
According to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Arctic station is located at the Kiruna Space Center in Sweden. The site is latitude and longitude latitude 67°53' north latitude and 21°04' east longitude. It is located about 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. At the same time, the Arctic station can make the average acquisition time of data in any region of the world no more than 2 hours, and the timeliness of data acquisition can be more than doubled. This is of great significance for applications such as natural disasters that require rapid response.
According to reports, in order to meet the challenges of regional conditions, climatic conditions, working conditions, etc., the Arctic has broken through a large number of key technologies in engineering construction, including light-weight, modular, low-temperature, easy-to-disassemble design of large-scale three-axis antenna structure systems.
