Edison's May revenue fell 7.1% to the mainland market

Edison’s revenue in May was NT$211 million, down 7.1% from the previous month’s 226 million yuan, and 8.83% year-on-year. Edison said that mainly due to the global economic downturn, the company is more cautious in screening customers and orders based on avoiding the receipt of payment, and the mainland Yangzhou factory shipments are not recognized in non-consolidated revenue. As a result, the revenue in May fell slightly, and the company's view on the next LED lighting market turned cautious and conservative in the absence of a European debt problem.

Edison specializes in the high-power LED lighting market. Lighting products account for more than 90% of the company's revenue. The revenue from January to April this year shows a monthly growth trend. Therefore, Edison was optimistic about the second season after entering the lighting season. The growth trend will be more obvious; however, Edison admitted that from the current market conditions, the international economic situation is not good, and the mainland subsidy policy has not seen substantial results, and the attitude of customers’ orders has become conservative. In order to focus on urgent orders, the order visibility is only one month, and the current capacity utilization rate is about 70%. It holds a conservative view on the future LED lighting prospects and is more cautious for cooperative customers.

Edison pointed out that the European debt problem is unresolved and has caused some impact on European and American customers. The potential business opportunities for LED lighting in the Mainland are still large. Therefore, the focus of the company's customer base has begun to shift to the mainland. Currently, it is actively seeking cooperation with the mainland lighting factories, and is expected to further seize the business opportunities of China's LED lighting subsidy policy.
