Bidirectional trigger diode

Two-way trigger knowledge introduction introduction topic

Bidirectional trigger diodes are introduced at the same time as bidirectional thyristors and are commonly used to trigger bidirectional thyristors.

The related pictures of this topic are as follows:

The structure, symbol, equivalent and volt-ampere characteristics of the bidirectional trigger diode are shown in Figure 1. It is a three-layer, symmetrical two-terminal device equivalent to an open-circuit, emitter- and collector-symmetrical NPN transistor technology transistor. Its positive and negative volt-ampere characteristics are completely symmetrical.

When the voltage across the device is less than the forward turning power Ubo, it is in a high impedance state; when U Ubo enters the negative resistance region. Similarly, when |U| exceeds the reverse corner voltage |Ubr|, the tube can also enter the negative resistance zone.

The symmetry of the transition voltage is represented by ΔUb

â–³Ub=Ubo-|Ubr|
