Located on the central axis of the city in Changping District, Beijing, a giant 18-meter-high torch sculpture is particularly eye-catching. Every night, the flames of the flames burn. Its designers are from Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, and a total of 11 lighting sculptures have been designed. On the 9th, the reporter interviewed Han Qiwen, the chairman of Meinguang Environmental Development Co., Ltd., who just returned from Beijing to Daqing.
Han Qiwen has been engaged in the research of lighting sculpture. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Art School of East China Jiaotong University and a consultant to the Office of the National Urban Sculpture Construction Steering Committee. In 2003, he was hired as a lighting consultant by the Daqing Municipal Government. He has always had a dream to do something for the Beijing Olympics. When the Olympic Organizing Committee tendered the light sculptures in the country, he immediately submitted his own materials and works. In the end, his company won the first prize in the pre-trial and the first place in the bidding, and finally signed 11 lighting sculptures.
Han Qiwen said that these light sculptures must reflect both the Olympic elements and the Beijing culture. As early as the successful bid for the Olympics, I wanted to design a torch sculpture that could burn. I finally had a chance. They designed a giant torch in a ratio of 1:18.6. The designers started to install more than 1,000 lamps for the most critical flame parts. Han Qiwen felt that there was no burning feeling. After the improvement, more than 1000 lamps were added. At the moment of lighting the sculpture, the flame part burned like a real torch. As the company's main production and processing power are in Daqing, 7 of the 11 lighting sculptures were completed in Daqing, namely: Xiangyun Torch, Olympic Wufuwa, Xiangyunzhu, Diabolo, Lieutenant, tennis racket and lighting pavilion. Han Qiwen said that they combined the LED modern light source and sculpture to make these sculptures produce dynamic lighting effects, just like living.
The Olympic lighting sculptures were unveiled in Beijing, and the experts and the public were full of praise. Li Baoping, Minister of Urban Operations Department of the 2008 Olympic Games Environmental Command, spoke highly of these Olympic lighting sculptures. She said that first, these works use high-tech means to show the Olympic landscape elements, embodying the concept of science and technology Olympics; second, some works reflect Beijing's long-standing culture, which also reflects the concept of humanistic Olympics; third, these works are all energy-saving Made of environmentally friendly materials, in line with the concept of a green Olympics.
