As the New Year approaches, what are your valued friends planning to treat themselves? The old chicken is going to treat himself better this year—preparing a big house and giving himself some learning materials.
The black group has a WD 8T hard disk plus a 4T Cool Wolf. After thinking about moving into a pair of 8T, the basic principle was that I couldn't stand it anymore. So I pulled out the grass section of this 8T hernia plate, and the dog just barked!
**Reasons to Purchase**
Originally, I wanted to buy another pair of MyBook 8T and Black Group. But since my Amazon Prime membership had expired, I needed to get back into the game. How can I purchase Prime membership? In the world of Jack Ma and Blind East, it's not easy...
The first thing was selection. After reading BackBlaze’s 17-year Q2, Q3, and cumulative hard drive failure rate report, I didn’t have to think much—the failure rate of the fast disk HUH728080ALE600 is really impressive.

After surveying the East, the 3K price made me run to the toilet... but then I found a treasure. At the expense of 5 years of official protection, the price even exceeded my waist. Forget it—if each hard drive lasts more than two and a half years before failing, buying one now won’t be a loss. Plus, your technology will be revolutionized. At that time, you might even get a new model. If you don’t know how to use it, follow my principle of “Qiang†and find a piece of Baosteel called “0 power on.†That’s the 8T helium disk.
At this point, we found another model: HUH728080ALE604. It was the last one at the end of the line, and the price was much lower. Checking the post, it said the difference was only in encryption method (ISE vs SE). However, many water quotes said that 604 is the OEM version of 600 or an official replica. Plus, BackBlaze’s report showed that 600 models had the best failure rate. So I let go of my hesitation and decided to place the order!

The city express delivery came the next day. The seller said same-city orders could be sent via SF, but it ended up being regular express. I was a bit upset, but still happily opened the package.

The hard drive was wrapped in thick foam paper and bubble bags. Although there was no licensed packing box, the chance of damage during short-distance transport in the same city should be comparable to a lottery ticket.

The electrostatic bag had a hole, and a warranty sticker was affixed. Even though the opening was a bit rough, it was better than an intact electrostatic bag. I noticed that the hard drive had a sacrificial operation on the warranty, which I could accept.

There were some basic parameters on the front of the electrostatic bag, but many were unclear, so I just kept going. What if it affected the warranty quality?

After opening the electrostatic bag, the front of the body looked similar to WD’s helium disk. A white label covered it, and I just kept going. The body wasn’t printed with the WWN. When I tested it, I forgot to check it in AIDA64 and just put it into the black group. I wonder if any friends know how to view the hard disk WWN in the DSM system...

On the back of the hard drive, there are two QR codes and an anti-counterfeit sticker. The cable is visible. There are also some scales, which should describe certain dates, but the words are engraved. After checking the posts for a long time, I couldn’t figure it out. I asked a powerful friend, and they said it looked like encrypted text. What kind of consideration is that? (Stupid face)

There are no marks on the gold finger, and the overall appearance is quite satisfactory.
**Experience Feelings**

Before going to sleep, I placed it in the Y-1094 hard disk box (ASM1153E master) on the bad road. The result was quick work—everything turned green and shut down... I forgot to take a screenshot and just put up a smart bar. After a dozen hours and a few power cycles, the test results came back. The first picture was all zeros. Shouldn’t that be a smart brush?

First, I ran a benchmark read. The curve looked fine. At least the outermost two or three TB read speed was still guaranteed.
Then I used FASTCOPY for a copy test:

Read from HGST

Write to HGST

After partitioning HGST, the copy may have been limited by simultaneous reading and writing, making it slower.
Maybe it's limited by the hard disk box. Basic read and write speeds are around 140 MB/s. No matter what, my little partner has already joined the black group and is running on the machine!

V4's side hard disk cage can only hold two 3.5-inch drives. The 4T Cool Wolf had to be moved to the bottom of the hard disk. The chassis should fit all the drives (fan x3 hard drives x3 PCIx1 chassis has three slots, but the ITX motherboard can only support one). Obsessive-compulsive disorder is cured.

From this perspective, the space between the hard disk cage and the bottom hard disk is very small, and after manual testing, it's less than 25 px. I’m not sure if it affects heat dissipation slightly.
**To Sum Up**
Overall, I bought the HUH728080 ALE600 at a good price, and my heart was still a little excited. As an enterprise disk, compared to the 8T removed from the Mybook, the temperature was quite similar, staying around 32–33°C. The noise was low, but the three hard drives in the Joe Sibo V4 box were jumping and closing, making it impossible for me to stay when I was sleeping (saving a lot of electricity). But the most important thing is the average 2.5 million hours of breakdown time. It gives me a sense of security to store photo backups and code backups in my heart. Although there is no five-year official insurance, the insurance is only for the hard drive, and data still depends on yourself.
Now it's time to open the box. Here's the blackboard layout job (I don’t know what to wait for in the comment area!).
1. How to check the hard disk WWN in the DSM system?
2. How to interpret the grid and points on the back of the hard disk?
If I answer these two questions first, I'll update the captain in the comment area!
The old chickens finally wish you good health.
