Edison's sophisticated specifications adapt to a wide range of devices, with powerful features and low power consumption, making it easy for engineers to build next-generation consumer products.
The new Intel Edison from Mouser features a 22nm Inte Atom SoC with a dual-core, dual-threaded 500 MHz CPU and a 100MHz 32-bit Quark MCU. Intel has incorporated unprecedented features into the small-sized Edison, successfully bringing innovation to another level. Intel Edison, which measures only 35.5 x 25 x 3.7 mm, supports 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of flash, dual-band 801.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 and 2.1 EDR. Edison has a micro USB OTG port and 40 general purpose I/O pins (GPIO) with a high-density Hirose DF40 connector. The Intel Edison can be powered from a 3.3V to 4.5V supply and consumes only 13 mW in standby mode.
Intel Edison initially supported the development of the Arduino® development board and C/C++ language, and later supported technologies such as Node.js, Python, Viper RTOS, and Visual Programming.
Intel Edison includes inter-device and slave-to-cloud connectivity frameworks for cross-device communication and cloud-based multi-tenant time series analysis services, which are available upon purchase of an Intel Edison module or suite.
