Nvidia announces Audi's latest automotive infotainment system adopts its Tegra

NVIDIA (Nvidia) announced that Audi's latest automotive infotainment system using NVIDIA Tegra technology will be applied to specific models worldwide this year.

The innovative Audi MIB modular infotainment system uses a powerful new computing module MMX, which is based on the NVIDIA Tegra Visual Computing Module (VCM). The new MIB high-end system has been applied to the new Audi A3 in Europe. Starting with major markets in Asia, the system will cover a larger area this year and enter the US and Canadian markets by 2014.

The networked Audi MIB system creates the Audi network, allowing the system to update the Google Earth images and the 360-degree panoramic Google Maps Street View in real time. It also facilitates the transmission of other online information, such as real-time oil prices from Google Local Search, weather forecasts, and places of interest searches.

The innovative MIB architecture won the "Best Global OEM Infotainment Solution Award" at the 10th Annual TelemaTIcs Update Ceremony held in Novi, Michigan.

Mathias Halliger, Director of System Architecture at Audi MMI, said: "The launch of the Tegra-based MIB infotainment system is a major milestone for Audi. This new modular approach allows our multimedia system to be independent of the automotive development cycle and consumer electronics Beyond the product development cycle, we can implement the latest and best innovative technologies to bring in-vehicle infotainment systems to bring customers the best experience.

The new MIB system is planned to be used in all the upcoming Audi models, model generations and further minor facelift models. The system will also be applied to high-end navigation systems of Volkswagen and Skoda brands.

The core component of the MIB system is NVIDIA VCM based on the NVIDIA Tegra mobile processor. VCM's modular design allows automakers to separate the rapidly improving processor technology from the slow upgrade of automotive electronics. In this way, the in-vehicle system can be quickly applied to various vehicle models, allowing automobile manufacturers to save a lot of development time and costs.

Taner Ozcelik, General Manager of NVIDIA ’s Automotive Business Unit, pointed out: “NVIDIA ’s modular VCM approach allows manufacturers such as Audi to quickly upgrade from Tegra 2 processors to Tegra 3 and higher models. Never before has a car manufacturer been able to A new generation of consumer electronics technology will be realized within a period of time. "

reflectors for an optimal use of energy.

2.  The Gyros will change direction automatice, if there is a force.

3.  Removable and detachable parts for easy clean.

4.   The particular broiling result is obtained by alternating heating and

cooling down. The meat fibres do not harden, and the gravy is flavoured

by the spices. This cooking mode results in very healthy meat.

5.  The Vertical Grill allows broiling meat layers, shashlik, party sausages,

poultry and fish with few attachments.

6.  The Skewers and Gyros go in opposite direction so that the food could

      be heated more well.
