Discuss the wiring technology of car audio system

As the car will produce interference of various frequencies during driving, it will adversely affect the listening environment of the car audio system, so this requires us to have higher requirements for the installation and wiring of the car audio system.

1. Selection of car audio wiring

The smaller the resistance of the car audio wire, the less power is consumed on the wire, and the higher the efficiency of the system. Even if the wire is very thick, a certain amount of power will be lost due to the horn itself, without making the efficiency of the entire system reach 100%.

The smaller the resistance of the wire, the greater the damping coefficient; the larger the damping coefficient, the greater the redundant vibration of the horn.

The larger the cross-sectional area of ​​the wire (the thicker it is), the smaller the resistance, and the greater the tolerance current value of the wire, the greater the allowable output power.

The choice of power supply insurance, the closer the fuse box of the main power line is to the car battery connector, the insurance value can be determined according to the formula, insurance value = (sum of total rated power of each power amplifier in the system & TImes; 2) / average power supply voltage value.

Second, the wiring of the audio signal line

Tighten the connector of the audio signal cable with insulating tape or heat shrinkable tubing to ensure insulation. When the connector contacts the car body, noise may be generated.

Keep the audio signal cable as short as possible. The longer the audio signal line, the more susceptible it is to interference from various frequencies in the car. Note: If the length of the audio signal cable cannot be shortened, the extra long part should be folded up instead of rolled up.

The wiring of the audio signal cable should be at least 20cm away from the power circuit of the driving computer module circuit and the power amplifier. If the wiring is too close, the audio signal line will pick up noise with frequency interference. It is best to distribute the audio signal cable and the power cable separately on both sides of the driver's seat and front passenger seat. Note that when wiring close to the power line and microcomputer circuit, the audio signal line must be more than 20cm away from them. If the audio signal line and the power line need to cross each other, we recommend crossing at 90 °.

Third, the wiring of the power cord

The current capacity of the selected power cord should be equal to or greater than the value of the fuse connected to the power amplifier. If substandard cables are used as power cords, AC noise will be generated and the sound quality will be severely damaged. The power cord may become hot and burn.

When using a single power cord to supply power to multiple amplifiers, the length of the wiring from the separation point to each amplifier should be the same as much as possible. When the power cord is bridged, there will be a potential difference between the various power amplifiers. This potential difference will cause AC noise, which will seriously damage the sound quality. When the host is powered directly from the power supply, it will reduce noise and improve sound quality.

Thoroughly remove the dirt from the battery connector and tighten the connector. If the power connector is dirty or not tightened, the connector will be in poor contact. The presence of choke resistance will cause AC noise, which will seriously damage the sound quality. Use sandpaper and thin tumblers to remove dirt from the joints and wipe with butter.

When wiring in the automobile power system, avoid wiring near the generator and the ignition device. Generator noise and ignition noise can be radiated into the power cord. When the spark plug and spark plug cable installed at the factory are replaced with a high-performance type, the ignition spark is stronger, and then the ignition noise will be more likely to occur.

The principle of wiring power cables and audio cables in the car body is the same.

Fourth, the method of grounding

Use fine sandpaper to remove the paint at the grounding point of the car body, and fix the grounding wire tightly. If paint remains between the car body and the ground terminal, it will cause contact resistance at the ground point. Similar to the dirty battery connector described above, contact resistance can cause AC noise, which can seriously damage sound quality.

Concentrate the grounding of various audio equipment in the audio system at one point. If you do n’t concentrate them a little to ground, the potential difference between the audio components will cause noise. (Note: The host and amplifier should be grounded separately.)

When the system consumes a large amount of current, the battery ground must be secure. The way to improve the grounding performance of the power supply is to use thick-diameter wire between the power supply and the ground, such as stranded wire. Doing so can strengthen the connection, effectively suppress noise and improve sound quality.

Do not route near the trip computer. Please remember that when the grounding point of the host is close to the grounding point or fixed point of the driving computer, the driving computer noise will be generated.

In addition, all the wires and audio cables used for wiring in the car must be added with a special jacket sleeve for the car.
