Farsens launches passive RFID tags with LEDs
Farsens, a provider of passive RFID sensor technology and wireless sensor networks, has introduced a passive RFID tag with LEDs that emits flicker when the tag is positioned. The RFID tag add-on LED is designed to allow users to more intuitively identify items and make inventory counts or other processes easier.
The user simply enters the required unique ID into the reader software. The ID number label will flash when detected, and the user can easily find the desired item. This tag is compatible with any civilian EPC Gen 2 reader.
When the reader requests a specific ID number and the tag is within the read range, it flashes. The Stella RFID World Wide Web tag has a 96-bit Electronic Product Code (EPC) memory area, a 32-bit Tag Identifier (TID) and a password-protected KILL command.
The label substrate is a PCB with an existing size: 135*30 mm (5.3*1.2 inches), a broadband antenna with a dipole, operating in the 868 MHz and 915 MHz bands; 149*29 mm (5.9*1.1 inches), With a dipole 868 MHz antenna; 82 x 28 mm (4.2 x 1.1 inches) with a meaner 868 MHz antenna.
The tag's normal reading range is 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) and the operating temperature ranges from minus 30 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius (22 degrees Fahrenheit to 185 degrees Fahrenheit).
