SEMI Releases China LED Upstream Manufacturing Report

August 15, 2011 - The International Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Association (SEMI) recently released a new report titled "China's LED upstream manufacturing report," which provides a comprehensive picture of the rapidly growing Chinese LED industry. Overview includes the latest data and other important information on capital and equipment expenditures, fab production capacity, and sales rankings of Chinese LED manufacturing companies. The report also provided the Chinese government's latest policy on subsidies for fab projects, the latest LED fab projects, an overview of Chinese sapphire wafer suppliers, and a company profile of leading companies in the industry.

The Chinese government has recognized the long-term prospects for solid-state lighting and high-brightness LEDs, and has provided strong support to both the supply and demand sides of this industry. Some analysts estimate that the global output value of the industry will be around 100 in 2010 from 2010. Billion US dollars increased to over US$100 billion. In recent years, the central and local governments have implemented a series of industrial planning and support policies to promote the development of the solid-state lighting industry.
