Smart hardware detonates data wearable devices and smart homes

By 2017, smart hardware will allow ordinary users to share daily data with more than 100 apps and services – with wearables and smart homes leading the way.

Today's users share data with the network mainly on the social network, but Gartner said in a report this week that the emerging areas of hardware - health monitoring, smart homes and smart cars will dig a piece of the past Utilizing daily activity data that is used to analyze and reverse the service to users.

Brian Blau, director of research at Gartner, believes that in the next 3-4 years, the scope of the app will no longer be limited to mobile phones or tablets, but to homes, cars and our daily wear. Gartner predicts that wearable devices will account for 50% of the daily device interactions in 2017.

Since most of the smart hardware, such as thermostats and wristbands, do not have a large screen that is very easy to interact with, the app and other software will direct the user's data to our existing mature smart devices (such as mobile phones).

In the coming year, cognitive computing will become the key to smart homes—networked devices are increasingly aware of how to anticipate user needs and then meet them in time. For example, data analysis can allow home appliances to turn on hot water at specific times of the week, or to alert you when an emergency occurs at home.

Other companies are already encouraging users to share their data. For example, Lumo will detect and help users improve their sitting posture. The June bracelet tries to encourage people to get more sun.

Data is necessarily a way to make devices more useful, but there is one question as to whether users share their (daily) data.

The involvement of Giant Technology will complicate this issue. For example, last week, Google received Nest, and Nest had to stand up quickly to clarify how its data would be shared with Google and then draw a line.

Gartner's Blau also said that users are willing to rely on this process as long as the services provided by the device are useful. For example, in the case of Nest, the thermostat is used to save energy costs.
