The world's first embedded dedicated graphics card

VIA today announced the launch of the world’s first discrete graphics “VIA eH1” designed specifically for the embedded market, based on its embedded graphics core Chrome eH1, which S3 Graphics released more than six months ago.

The S3 Chrome eH1 core is designed for complex environments and industrial systems. The architecture is based on a fully programmable unified shading unit. It supports DirectX 10.1, OpenGL 3.1, OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenCL 1.0, OpenVG 1.1, and other API programming interfaces. It integrates ChromotionHD. 2.0 video processor unit that supports H. 264, MEPG-2, VC1 and other video encoding and Blu-ray program hardware decoding, post-processing, resolution up to 2560 × 1600, also supports stylish 3D stereo output.

VIA eH1 graphics card uses a half height blade design, small fan cooling, PCI-E 2.0 bus interface, can be configured as PCI-E x16/x8/x4/x1 slot interface (sample card for PCI-E x16), equipped with 512MB DDR3 memory, 64-bit wide, output interface for DL-DVI, HDMI, supports HDCP and dual display.

Samples of the VIA eH1 graphics card are now shipping to relevant customers and can be widely used in embedded applications such as digital signage, billboards, POS, POI, and gambling machines that require powerful graphics and high-definition video performance.
