Philips launches carpet with anti-wear LED display

According to British media reports, the Dutch Desso carpet company and Philips company launched a carpet, the most prominent feature of the carpet is the mosaic of a giant screen LED display, which can turn the carpet into a new display virgin land. It is reported that if the carpet is commercially available, it can use the display technology to guide the animated characters to passengers or tourists at the airport or shopping center, such as helping passengers find the boarding arrow at the airport.

Ed Heibes of Philips said in an interview: "This carpet display can be used to display ground animation icons in stores, cinemas or hotels, and architects are exploring other interesting applications, such as 2D. The code is displayed on the ground."

This carpet display uses a highly resistant, transparent plastic backing that is mounted on a 10 mm thick steel screen filled with LEDs. This is a novel display technology that can even be described as ingenious. After many years of mature LED display technology, the exploration of its better application in more fields has begun.
