Closer to home, I've always believed in the "flat taste theory" – the tablet can do what the phone can do, and it's easier to carry around in your pocket. But when my roommate got an iPad Pro, he showed me how productive a tablet could be. That planted the seed of desire, and coinciding with the Double Eleven sale, I made the decision to buy it, even though it cost me a lot. Here's the sun single.

The total cost was 100 yuan deposit + 4277 yuan, totaling 4377, which I managed to get through a JD PLUS voucher.

The front of the device is a large glass panel with a great texture. There’s a classic round home button with a metal ring. The front also has the front camera and light sensor. The bare metal weight is under 500 grams, so holding it in one hand doesn’t feel heavy at all.

The upper left corner has a 1200W pixel camera, similar to the iPhone 7. The middle has the Apple logo, and the back is a whole piece of metal. Compared to gold-filled devices, the deep-space gray is more reserved and suits someone like me, an engineering geek.

On top, from left to right, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack (no noise cancellation, which was a bit surprising), two speakers (plus two more at the bottom, which is awesome for me), and a power lock screen key. The key is super thin! It makes the Baile 78G look fat by comparison.

Apple Pencil Family Portrait!
Only a charging adapter, replacement pen, instructions, and warranty book come with it. The cap is magnetic and secure, so it won’t fall off easily. Pairing with the iPad Pro is straightforward. Just remove the cap and charge it into the Pro’s port. Turn on Bluetooth in the settings, and it pairs automatically. There’s a small slot for charging the pen. The speed of charging and using the Pro’s charger is almost the same. The pen only needs 2% charge to last 20 minutes, but this often makes me feel obsessive-compulsive, wondering if something is wrong.

Accessory 2: Wireless Storage Expansion
As a download enthusiast, I always want to save good things locally. A 64GB phone reminds me that storage is critical every other week. The iPad Pro 64GB will likely face the same issue soon. I considered two options: the Apple USB drive and a Wi-Fi expander that supports external hard drives.
Both have their pros and cons. The Apple USB drive has fast read/write speeds, but limited capacity (128GB is expensive, and 64GB is too small). The Wi-Fi expander has slower speeds due to the Wi-Fi module, but supports 2TB hard drives, which is like a dad. It's also easier to transfer data wirelessly than with the Apple USB drive. Plus, it works with both the iPad Pro and the phone.
After thinking twice, I looked at DM Wi-Fi memory on Taobao. At the time, I thought it was a suitable solution. I ordered it, but then found out that the 2.5-inch removable hard drive didn’t fit. It only supported certain hard drives.

This iShare3 is compact and has full features. It’s a 5200mAh charging treasure and can also act as a wireless router or Wi-Fi repeater. It can also insert an SD card or USB drive to move files. The manual explains in detail how to pair, adjust Wi-Fi settings, etc. – worth praising.
The Wi-Fi transmission rate stabilizes at 3MB/s, which meets my daily file transfer needs. Watching videos from the hard drive wirelessly is also fine, but when the video is too high resolution or too large (like my 35GB Sword Art Online series), occasional lag occurs. It’s limited by the Wi-Fi module speed, but in my usage, I usually watch downloaded learning videos, and there’s no lag. Playback is smooth.
Accessory 3: Guardian Angel
Once the new tablet arrived, I had to protect it with a tempered glass film and case. After all, it cost me all my part-time job savings. Naturally, I wanted complete protection. I chose a tempered glass film and a leather case. The case is the same size as a textbook, and there’s a pen slot on the edge. The pen is fixed firmly and doesn’t slide. It’s well-designed.

Experience
I created an Apple account and updated to the latest iOS 11 system without stopping.
I added my favorite apps to the Dock shortcut bar. The three on the left are the recently used apps.

In any app, I can swipe up from the bottom to bring up the Dock and access the control center. Background apps appear together. Clicking the blank returns to the desktop. It's very convenient and easy to get used to.

Goodnotes
Notes artifact! Relies on this in class! Perfectly supports Apple Pencil. Importing the teacher’s courseware is easy, and I can write and draw notes. Fast response with no delay. Document management is also convenient, organized by subject folders, and I can import images. Very powerful, highly recommended (handwriting may be messy, but it's clear).

For other learning apps, MATH42 and drawing tools are very powerful. Whenever I need calculations, I can calculate limits or Laplace transforms. It’s helpful for engineering students.

For other types of apps, MindNode does a great mind map. ScannerPro converts scanned documents into images and PDFs. Its sharpness optimization is better than regular cameras. Calendars5 is a time management tool that helps arrange schedules and improves efficiency. Highly recommended.

I haven’t used many entertainment apps. I only downloaded one game and used NetEase Cloud Music to keep me entertained all day. The VOD movie player is a qualified local player. It supports adding subtitles manually. With the iShare 3 generation, wireless video playback is still enjoyable.

Daily Use
Carrying the iPad Pro and textbooks together. Sometimes I don’t bring the textbook because the teacher uses PPT. Before importing PPT into Goodnotes, I take notes directly on the screen with the Apple Pencil.

Life Aspects
From 8 to 11:30 AM, I keep writing, looking at the news, and adjusting the brightness to one-third. By morning, the battery drops from 100% to about 85%. At noon, I watch online videos without charging, and continue using it until 2:30 PM. At night, I return to the dormitory, listen to music, build a mathematical model, and use the iShare Wireless HDD to watch learning videos. On a normal day, the battery lasts more than 50%, and moderate use allows it to last two days without charging.
To Sum Up
As my first Apple device, the iPad Pro met my expectations.
1. Light and Smooth Screen
Thanks to the iPad Pro’s powerful hardware, application switching and use are smooth. After more than two weeks, I still feel that the phone screen color is off (face), and the phone is mostly used as an alarm clock and hotspot (face), so there’s no harm in comparing.
2. Long Battery Life
With the Apple Pencil and iShare, all my needs were satisfied, and I no longer needed scratch paper. The next step is to expand into painting apps to further utilize the performance of the Apple Pencil and iPad Pro.
As for shortcomings, document management isn’t great. Others haven’t noticed yet. After all, it's still the honeymoon period.
Out of 100 words, I give it 95. Deducted 2 points for file management, 1 point for pride.
