**(Original title: AI also deceives people. Ke Jie is injured, but scientists say the human brain is many times stronger than AI)**

"I was once a member of the Chinese National Go Team. In the first man-vs-machine Go match in 1996, my idol 'Chess King' Garry Kasparov defeated the computer 'Deep Blue' 4-2. When he faced Li Shishi in 2016, we all thought the computer wouldn’t win—but it did. Then Ke Jie lost this year… It really hurt us as players."
Recently, at the 2017 Future Forum in Beijing, during a neuroscience workshop, a professional Go player admitted that he had been "hurt" by AlphaGo.
In fact, even his idols were affected too.
On October 19, Google’s AI team published a paper stating that AlphaGo’s "evolutionary version," AlphaGo Zero, taught itself in just 40 days and beat its predecessor. Earlier this year, it defeated Ke Jie 3-0.
Ke Jie sighed, "For AlphaGo’s self-improvement… humans are too limited."
Last week, the robot "Sophia" was granted citizenship by Saudi Arabia—marking the first time a robot received such status in human history. In the near future, movies like "Silver Wings Killer 2049" depict complex emotions between humans and robots. For decades, AI has evolved rapidly, causing humans to question their own superiority. Where is the human brain now?
Will humans lose, while machines win?
The cover of the October 23 issue of *The New Yorker* depicted a chilling scene: robots walking on the streets, while small humans kneel and beg for mercy. It's a scary image, and no one can predict whether it will happen in 10 years or 100.
At the neuroscience forum mentioned earlier, top scientists aimed to restore human dignity. They discussed research on the human brain and its relationship with AI. Scientists emphasized that there’s no need to fear that computers will take over soon. The human brain is far more powerful than any machine.
Li Feifei, a chief scientist at Google Cloud, comforted the "injured" Go players. “Go players may feel hurt, but do you think machines feel pain? Can they experience injuries like humans? That’s the difference between the human brain and computers.â€
Luo Minmin, a professor at Tsinghua University, added, “Humans may lose, and machines may win. But when it comes to fixed tasks, machines will always perform better. Eventually, machines may gain consciousness and emotions, depending on how we define them. But they’ll never be exactly like humans.â€
Stephen Hawking once warned that once AI is released, it could evolve faster than humans can keep up, leading to a future where humans might be replaced. According to his logic, the scene from *The New Yorker* seems inevitable.
However, some scientists are working to prevent that future.
Luo Liqun, a Stanford professor and NAS member, explained, “The human brain has over 10 billion neurons in the cortex, each connected to thousands of others. A transistor has only three inputs and outputs. This complexity makes the human brain far superior.â€
Recent experiments showed that signals from one animal’s brain could be transferred to another, making the recipient mimic the original’s behavior. Such findings highlight the unique and mysterious nature of the human brain.
While AI continues to advance, researchers remain fascinated by the brain’s complexity. From studying proteins to synapses and neural networks, neuroscience is one of the most exciting fields today.
Interestingly, AI and neuroscience are closely linked. Deep learning, which mimics the brain’s ability to process information, is still primitive compared to human cognition. As Yale professor Nicholas Turk-Browne noted, “Computers can store vast data, but they can’t capture individual experiences.â€
Dr. Sophie Vandebroek of IBM Research said, “AI needs continuous learning to reach human-like understanding. We’re still far from that goal.â€
Geoffrey Hinton, known as the "Godfather of Deep Learning," admitted that deep learning is hitting a wall. Some scientists are exploring alternatives, like transfer learning, which is more efficient for smaller datasets.
Ding Jian, a venture capitalist and Future Forum member, believes brain science is the largest unexplored territory. “Every breakthrough brings surprises,†he said. He also stressed the importance of talent in advancing cutting-edge technologies.
“Compared to the human brain, deep learning is still very basic. The human brain is far more intelligent and magical. I don’t think computers will surpass humans anytime soon,†Ding concluded.
0.96inch TFT
With the maturity of TFT technology in the early 1990s, color LCD flat-panel displays developed rapidly. In less than 10 years, TFT-LCD has rapidly grown into a mainstream display, which is inseparable from its advantages. The main features are:
(1) Good use characteristics: low-voltage applications, low driving voltage, and improved safety and reliability of solid use; flat panel, light and thin, saving a lot of raw materials and use space; low power consumption, its power consumption is about CRT display One-tenth of that, reflective TFT-LCD is even only about one-hundredth of CRT, saving a lot of energy; TFT-LCD products also have specifications, models, and sizes in series, with various varieties, convenient and flexible use, maintenance, and update , Easy to upgrade, long service life and many other features. The display range covers the application range of all displays from 1 inch to 40 inches and large projection planes. It is a full-size display terminal; the display quality ranges from the simplest monochrome character graphics to high resolution and high color fidelity. Various specifications and models of video displays with high brightness, high contrast and high response speed; display methods include direct view, projection, see-through, and reflective.
(2) Good environmental protection characteristics: no radiation, no flicker, no harm to the user's health. In particular, the emergence of TFT-LCD e-books will bring mankind into the era of paperless office and paperless printing, triggering a revolution in human learning, dissemination, and recording of civilization.
(3) The application range is wide, and it can be used normally in the temperature range from -20°C to +50°C. The low temperature working temperature of the TFT-LCD after temperature reinforcement can reach minus 80°C. It can be used as a mobile terminal display, a desktop terminal display, and a large-screen projection TV. It is a full-size video display terminal with excellent performance.
(4) The degree of automation of manufacturing technology is high, and the characteristics of large-scale industrial production are good. The TFT-LCD industry technology is mature, and the mass production yield rate has reached more than 90%.
(5) TFT-LCD is easy to integrate and upgrade. It is a perfect combination of large-scale semiconductor integrated circuit technology and light source technology, and has great potential for continued development. At present, there are amorphous, polycrystalline and monocrystalline silicon TFT-LCDs. In the future, there will be TFTs of other materials, including glass substrates and plastic substrates.
