The dot pitch refers to the distance between the centers of two adjacent pixels. It is usually measured in millimeters (mm). For example:
Each pixel can consist of one LED (e.g., PH10 - 1R), two LEDs (e.g., PH16 - 2R), or four LEDs (e.g., PH16 - 2R1G1B).
1. Module Length
Module length = Number of pixels along the long side × Dot pitch
Example: For a P16 module, if there are 16 pixels on the long side: 16 × 1.6 cm = 25.6 cm
2. Module Width
Module width = Number of pixels along the wide side × Dot pitch
Example: For a P10 module with 32 pixels on the long side: 32 × 1.0 cm = 32 cm
1. Cabinet Resolution
Cabinet resolution = (Length × Width) / Dot pitch
2. Full Screen Resolution
LED display screen per square meter = 1,000,000 / Dot pitch (in mm)
Method 1: Total area ÷ Module length ÷ Module height = Number of modules used
Example: For a 10 m² P16 outdoor monochrome LED display: 10 ÷ 0.256 ÷ 0.128 ≈ 305 modules
Method 2 (More Accurate): Number of modules along length × Number of modules along height = Total number of modules
Example: For a 5m x 2m P16 display:
RGB Color Mixing Distance: LED full-color screen viewing distance = Dot pitch (mm) × 500 to Dot pitch (mm) × 1000
Minimum Viewing Distance: LED display visible distance = Dot pitch (mm) × 1000
Optimal Viewing Distance: Best viewing distance = Dot pitch (mm) × 3000 to Dot pitch (mm) × 1000
Maximum Viewing Distance: LED screen farthest viewing distance = Screen height (m) × 30
